Funding

The funding for REMTEC is provided by The Danish Agency for Science Technology and Innovation under the Programme commision on sustainable energy and environment. The Programme Commission on Sustainable Energy and Environment is part of the Danish Council for Strategic Research, which comprises a Board and a limited number of programme commissions.  The Commission is currently responsible for allocating funding to:

  • Systematised renewable energy.
  • Energy and Environment.
  • Environmental technology

The funding is distributed in free competition. An emphasis will be placed on high relevancy and research quality as well as on effects and benefits. There will also be an emphasis on the research being conducted as an integrated interaction between public and private-sector research as well as on co-funding.

The priority criteria are described in more detail in the specific calls for applications and in the memo on funding of strategic research programmes.

In addition to allocating funding within strategic research areas, the Commission provides research-related advice in connection with the implementation of research programmes within ministries, foundations, etc., involving, among other things, the Commission assessing applications submitted to these programmes.

The Danish Agency for Science Technology and Innovation (Forsknings og Innovationsstyrelsen) is an institution under the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
